Claudia does have an awesome body. Gisele is thin...but no one will ever accuse her of not eating. I mean girl has some muscle. Not talking big old bulging biceps. But some muscle.

i think we knew that after her infamous pictures . and i think you mean "that thin" because she would still probably be very damn skinny even if she were at her natural weight

its really surprising, how many models we know aren't naturally thin despite being told they are all the time

and of course there are the models that admitted to eating disorders like Karen Elson, Anouck Lepere, Elsa Sylvan, and Jeisa to name the ones that i can remember off the top of my head. Suvi also apparently purged on the modeling show she was a contestant on.

edit: Natalia V. also admitted to starving herself after having her child. She was naturally thin, but after her metabolism started changing she resorted to extreme measures to sustain it

What I still fail to understand is once you reach a level of sucess shouldn't you gain a couple pounds...not lose it?

^Oddly enough if you look at Olga's thread, especially the earlier pages and then the most recent pages you can see, even she has lost weight. It's especially obvious on her face and arms.

I find it funny that the industry allows for models like Hilary, Doutzen, Coco, Agyness, Maria Carla and most recently Meghan Collison to be bigger than girls around them. I think this because they have some kind of permanant support in the industry which allows them to make money without looking like death, Agyness, Coco and Meghan are very current and popular and Meisel loves them so they aren't worried about not getting work. Hilary and Doutzen have big cosmetic contracts and Gemma is Gemma.
Then there's the filler models who aren't guarenteed the big contracts or editorials but they are guarenteed runway slots, these are the ultra skinny girls like Snejana, Olga, and Kim Noorda, they won't get away with a few extra pounds. Whereas if Lara Stone puts on 10 lbs no one will notice or care.
