You're right, style.com doesn't retouch and they certainly wouldn't retouch to make a girl look thinner. If anything the photographers might clear bumps off the faces in beauty shots to keep their work rep clean at most.

Her perspective is solely first hand based. All she is going to know is if she is or isn't and tell what she knows of her fellow model friends. Which is really more than what anyone else knows so why is there such an urgency to not believe what they say?

Models aren't really standing for anyone but themselves in the business. They're not representing a union or fighting to keep a ban out of context because to them it's not a threat and may as well not exist so there's really no reason for them to lie or sugarcoat.

A lot of what is said in interviews are indeed extremely generic safe answers. 'Specially if it's done on the go like backstage at shows.
"How are you enjoying fashion week?" "It's great"
"What's your favorite show?" "This one!"
On the other hand, journalists have a very hard time trying to find models who will participate in answering real topics. They can go through 30 girls and only find 2 who will do the interviews. It's usually the few girls who step up to bat who are unashamed enough to tell the truth. That or they're just in love with media-ops

I think Vlada's answer for the question about other models with eating disorders was reasonable. As a model it was good for her to leave it vague. It would be rude to target some people, plus it is just what the journalist or interviewer wanted to answer with and she didn't.

I would have been disappointed if she had named names, that wouldn't have been very dipolomatic or professional.

even if what she's saying is BS (im NOT saying it is!), i think she did a good, professional job on the article.

That makes me wonder how many models actually have named names or references in interviews.. I really couldn't imagine it in an instance regarding that topic

I've never read/heard any models giving names, that would be stupid. And I agree with what Vlada said about all that weight issue being overrated!

Why are we so focused on Vlada ? She's not the only skinny high fashion model...

I just found an article about May Anderson, Danish model, on how she magages to lose up to 3 kilos on two days before a photo shoot. 3 kilos on 2 days? WTF?

Does anyone want a translation?
