Well, the reason diet books dont' work is because people don't have the will power to maintain their weight. After loosing whatever amount of weight, people tend to simply resort back to their previous eating habits and expect to keep the weight off.

A small percentage of people actually have typhoid problems that messes up their metabolism and makes it nearly impossible to lose or gain weight.

She has the face of a five year old. Hana (at the beginning of her career) was definately skinnier than Vlada, but I don't think it was as disturbing because she doesn't have a baby face. Babies are supposed to be chubby; the juxtaposition of Vlada's face and body is frightening.

So much of what Vlada said pertaining to food and diets only heightens my suspicion - maybe it's the language barrier, or the translation fogging things up, but in all, the little dear... isn't convincing.

She can eat what she wants, she mentions a 'ration', and that can even eat bread, she can eat junk food and not gain weight and in the same breath informs the interviewer she had oatmeal for breakfast... Okaaay. But moreson - I think it's almost expected that Vlada isn't going to respond to an interviewer (which is going to be published and revealed to the whatever - hundreds / thousands of people who may read it) with something like "Well yeah I've had anorexia nervosa on and off for 3 years; eating hamburgers makes me feel like a pig and after I eat I have to purge" or something. I don't think any popular model in her right mind would exactly because doing so would tar her image, possibly getting her less work! It seems so obvious to me.

Actually within the fashion industry gossip spreads like wildfire and if someone has an eating disorder, the clients are gonna hear it. Let's just say the few girls things circulate around haven't exactly lost work. A label fearing it's reputation being tarnished by the personal habits of the model somewhat disintegrated once everyone hopped on the Kate Moss train again after dropping her.
Keeping in mind that most high fashion models aren't famous in the celebrity way or the kate moss way so there's not much to fear in the first place.

I wish most models had the good sense (and a good enough sense of humor) to say something along the lines of what Penelope Cruz said in Vogue:

"I have an allergy to talking about diets," she says modestly. "It's like when you hear actresses say how ugly they were when they were at school. It makes me want to throw up!"

"I've never put efforts to be that thin. I have never dieted. I eat like everybody three times a day. There are meat and fish in my ration. I can eat everything including bread. I just don’t gain weight. I can eat several hamburgers and not gain a gram. Today I had oatmeal for my breakfast."

Seems she's not dieting but takes care of what she eats....

I think thats ok for a supermodels, whose success depends a bit on her ultrathin body.

Wait a minute. i translated this article and i just felt in russian that she told the truth... cause it was logically right... or how to say... and i tried to translate just like in russian.... she says that she eats like a NORMAL person (average)... she eats fish, meat, bread.... and ate oatmeal for breakfast (it's normal food, right???)... as a NORMAL person she can eat hamburgers and not gain a gram! because she eats them sometimes i suppose... i bet if you eat two hamburgers nothing special will happen to you at once!!! she meant that she has normal ration (normal ration doesn't include lots of junk food.... just sometimes).... so my conclusion is that she was always that thin and she just eats what she ate, to what she was used to... i can assure you that in Omsk she wasn't used to junk food... just normal average food (fish, meat, bread, sweats, oatmeal etc)
