Stress, on the other hand, can make you lose weight and can make you end up looking like Courtney.

Maybe it's just stress... maybe it's not.

Those who aren't in the fashion industry or don't care about it often finds even normal* models anorexic and so on..

*normal = those who are not so often spoken about in this thread

I've been wondering about Flavia O. She looked like she lost weight in the New York shows this season and hasn't appeared in Milan, where she was in quite a few spring shows. I don't know if she has other work going on now? Her appearance in New York has left me concerned. Hope everything is ok

Yes, voguelover94 is right. You lose your sense of shock about it. There is nothing pretty about it. Maybe it's artistically interesting, but it's cruel.

Women like Kim Noorda would look better if they gained 5 kg (or maybe more). But look at how her emaciation has been rewarded by the casting directors, especially in haute couture.

Definately my mom isn't into models at all, infact she thinks a lot of girls are hideous, but she loves Doutzen and Valentina because of their full round faces, she hates Snejana because she's so thin and how her cheeks are hollow, but I like it for how symmetrical it is. Mostly she worries that I'll end up skinny and ill like them.

I as well. You're not alone.

It has thus changed since I've come to accept that ALL people are different, but fashion will do that to you since they are trying to show you what is beautiful. And we believe it.

One good thing about fashion is that a lot of these girls would be tall and skinny anyways, and it's not really well-seen by people outside of the fashion industry whereas being models they're looked at as perfect girls and can make a living out of it... They go from being bullied to being adored

You must be joking. Many of them wouldn't be THIS skinny except to make money.

That's why you can't really call them anorexic, it isn't THEIR body image that is distorted. It's the industry. (Ballet is just as bad.)
