Did someone actually say Lara has thick legs? My god some people's perceptions are so distorted!

I find it strange how there's no longer such a thing as being too thin for modeling. Even if you disregard any health issues or eventual impacts on society or whatever, it's strange from a strictly aesthetic and functional point of view. Not everyone can model. Models should fit sample sizes. And just as you can be too big for those, you can certainly be too thin as well. I'm not sure if I'm making any sense here, but I guess my point is that while clothes look the best on slim bodies, there's most definitely a point where thinner no longer equals 'better clotheshorse'. Clothes do NOT fall nicely on skeletal bodies without any curves or shapes.

This thin craze is just absurd on so many levels.

I agree 100%! At this point, I feel like so many shows have ceased to be about the clothes (in my eyes) because I find myself so distracted by teeny tiny legs and protruding bones. If the girls had just some sort of shape, the clothes would look infinitely nicer. (Again, this is all in my opinion)

And one thing about the scary-thin models that came to mind is just how the industry currently is. It seems as though, while the fashion industry has never been a tame one, it's taken on a whole new persona. Clothes more dramatic and outlandish, models thinner than ever, and just in general less common looking models. It's like the whole industry is trying so hard to be...nonconformist? So many of today's models would have never modeled before because their look is so..unique and unconventional. And I DON'T mean ugly, just less conventionally "beautiful". Okay, I'm sorry...I'm just rambling and tired so I doubt this makes any sense.

i heard another story that the brazil model who died was not because of starvation but because of d**g overdose. i think it makes sense. read another story about how karl lost 92 lbs. he said he eats next to nothing but look, he is still alive. not that i wish him ill but my point is the MAIN cause of brazil model's death is not by living on only diet coke and lettuces.

To be frank, I like models thin. I haven't come to browse TFS for awhile now (about a year or so) and it's actually quite funny why.

--- After Sasha, Snej, and Vlada came onto the scene I lost much interest in the Supporting Cast forum... while I understand they are considered and photographed beautiful(ly) in an ethereal way - they just aren't attractive to me the same way past models like Natalia, Heather, Dewi, Eugenia etc. have. The girls I mentioned actually look like women... granted thin women, but women. There was something interesting about them to look at that wasn't just their frailty being photographed.

The new girls that are the most in-demand right now look *too* ethereal... a little too sickly for my taste. No matter how many new girls they bring in, I can't seem to find one I liked as much as before. Faces are too plain, body too thin ... sure it gives them more defined cheekbones... but that's all I see. I don't like my models looking *smaller* than the mannequins in shop windows. It's seriously unattractive. There's a few exceptions, like Morgane, Bruna, etc. that are interesting ... but I really hate the fact that they are bringing in girls like Johanna Stickland who doesn't have much to offer other than her once very -thin frame.

Oh and another thing, most of the in-demand models right now, should gain five pounds... honestly I think they'd be just as attractive (and less frightening) if they'd have half an extra inch to their legs.

Half an inch. Or maybe a whole inch. Is that too much to ask for?

Suvi weighed 52 kilos in her modeling school tv show time. And she frequently weighed herself in that show. Her mother agency boss even took notice and told her to stop it.
And now that she has lost several centimeters off her and has made it big...
She is 181 cms after all
with bmi around 15....

no wonder she looks so sick--- but the weird thing is that many girls are her size yet weight more. i theorize people with larger frames have to keep a lower weight to get the same measurements as someone with a small frame.

What was the name of the show she was on btw? And did her agency boss tell her to stop weighing her self on TV, or was it in private?

Didn't Suvi admit to purging her food? Or was that before she was on the show?

Julia doesn't look any different than usual in the picture posted above--I've always thought of her as a tad bit underweight, however.
