I was on Alexis Bledel's imdb page and found this quote interesting:

Quote:
"Before I got "Gilmore Girls" (2000), I was modeling. I went in for a call and was told, "Sweetie, you need to lose two inches off those hips". I was 14. So I just replied, "I have more jobs than I can do. I'm in high school. I can't go to all the trouble of losing the two inches, so I'll pass". Someone might tell you to lose weight, but you can say no".
If only more models took to that mentality.

The problem is that current standards call for teenage female bodies. Not that many models stick around beyond 22/23. There is a reason for it - as the growth spurt slows down to a completely adult level it takes a great deal of effort for most people - even genetically fortunate ones - to retain the required measurements.

It would be easier to have more extraordinary models - the really good ones get better with age and it would be nice if they were still considered high fashion material - if the BMI ideal was 18 rather than 16, I have to say.

The model in #11293 isn't to me the most scary models I have seen, she just seems to have a lot of muscles especially on arms and shoulders. I think that is why her legs seems to be so thin, she has wide shoulders.

That girl from Balmain is very slender, but she looks healthy enough, just muscular

I don't like the way Natasha looks here. I never complain about a model's legs, rarely!

But this picture got to me.
Usually there's a little something-something in between, but there's barely a trace of ANYTHING.

yeah Natasha has always been one of the skinniest models...but i think she was skinnier last season...
plus she has rather 'wide' hips (meaning her hipbones) so that also adds a bit to the gap...

An anorexic can look the same for years, it doesn't mean they don't have the disease. Karen Carpenter suffered from it for a long time and nobody noticed (her weight didn't fluctuate or anything).

Not that Snejana has the disease, but just because your body looks the same for a period of years doesn't mean you're not anorexic... we all know this isn't Snejana's natural body appearance though.
