^So true, I saw "I'm A Boy Annorexic" on Youtube and this boy said he ate around 200 calories a day (like half a sandwich), and he cycled for four hours a day and did Karate as well, and that was while he weight 5 stone and 5 pounds (75 pounds), granted he was 14, short and young but the thought of his little legs peddling that much while his stomach was completely empty, really got to me. I doubt any model is 75 pounds, not even Snejana or Siri at their thinnest, so it doesn't surprise me at all that these young models can starve and still constantly be on the run, they're young and their bodies can take it. Though I suppose it catches up with you, I hope it doesn't for their sake.

okay.. when one has an eating disorder, they can still have massive amounts of energy (or drive), even though it doesnt make sense for them to (you know, know food put in, no energy released).. there IS evidence showing this, even Marya Hornbacher writes in her book "Wasted" that when she was going through her lowest point of having EDs (anorexia and bulimia, she suffered since she was NINE years old) she was still running around, working like a dog, excersizing, still completely functioning. whether or not their energy is more psychological or not could be arguable, but it is fully possible for a model with an eating disorder to continue modelling without showing signs of fatigue.

Hmm, maybe I misinterpreted your post.... what I inferred was that you were saying that someone who models for a profession can't at the same time develop an eating disorder (or spiral down into an eating disorder from an extreme-diet) as it's something that was a result of work-pressure. If I'm wrong in what you said, then plz ignore this ![]() People aren't born with an eating disorder at birth - they are born with a vulnerability. Again, eating disorders need triggers. Whether that trigger be a reaction to more traumatic events such as molestation or abuse....or the lesser though traumatic: school stress, work stress, bullying, family dynamics, parents divorcing, change of location (such as when girls move to college), beauty and fashion ideals, etc.... I don't think that the level of trauma that preceded the ED should judge whether or not someone's problems are more real than others. Does that make sense? We just can't know what someone is experiencing unless we are inside that persons head. Quote:
Again, if I totally misinterpreted your posts then I'm sorry. I don't want to be putting words in your mouth. Basically what it comes down to, as its often been said, just as we can't assume that ALL models get eating disorders because of their job, we also can't assume that NONE do. but the stereotypes you use highlight the underlying societal issues that influence how men and woman are viewed and the body issues and restrictions women, and to a lesser extent, men, deal with.
as a post above you suggests, men are not immune to eating disorders.

why do you think models have such a reputation as caffeine addicts? Yes some are genetically blessed, some are naturally thin, but most have to go the extra mile with their diet whether they are naturally thin or not. |

![]() Of course she is still very very thin, but she did NOt loose weight like other models, she gained - I admit - a very little bit. Louis Vuitton fall/winter 06/07 (celebritycity) versus Prada Cruise spring summer 2009 (firstview): ![]() ![]() Of course she still has a very very small body frame, but she looks very beautiful now, no protuding ribcage or collarbones anymore: ![]() firstview Thats my personal view of Vlada. If you disagree, please don't pick on me or her. |

She is only an example, that you dont have to loose more and more weight every season like Siri, Kim and many others. I think she is an example that you can be very very successful without that. |
