Mandy Moore isn't unhealthily skinny and neither is Stam. Stammy is at an ideal weight, I think.

As for the model-actress debate: a lot of celebs- stratch that, nearly all celebs- are big fashion fans, much bigger fashion fans then the everyday Americans who watch them. Even celebrity girls, namely the Olsens, Kate Bosworth, and Rachel Zoe, feel the pressure to look like models. In a trickling effect, girls and women want to look like those celebs. So models really are the problem- though indirectly. And even models feel the pressure to be thin from designers.

i think the biggest reason why celebs you mentioned are so thin is due to artificial energy sources they ingest. i think some want to be thinner, but for ms. olsen---its just a nasty side effect. rachel zoe has enough intelligence to know that losing weight will not transform her into a model. only leg extensions and reconstructive facial surgery would do that. i just don't buy it since most actresses are too short to ever pull off anything modelesque. also, most have no sense of fashion.

She claimed she was in treatment for anorexia but the clinic that she checked into, Cirque Lodge, specialized in treating other ailments.

supposedly they also specialize in dual diagnosis of mood/psych disorders and rehab/detox. so, it is possible ms. olsen had both---but for some reason i don't think she had any eating disorder(my opinion is worth crap , however)

while i know we talk a lot about skinny stars and models in this thread, i think its important to note that in the last two months we have had a "fuller figured" woman on the cover of W and Vogue (America Ferrera and Jennifer Hudson respectively). its definately a big deal considering the controversy over the skinny models and actresses thats going on right now

Jessica's legs do looks really skinny in the recent candid and yes AM does look like he's gained weight =/!!

To a few of the above posters, there's a difference between anorexia and anorexia nervosa. Anorexia is the loss of appetite and anorexia nervosa is the loss of appetite due to fear of gaining weight. That is why ADHD medication lists anorexia as a side effect, because it may cause a decreased appetite for some individuals.
