PARIS–Women around the world take heart. Being a gorgeous, super-skinny supermodel doesn't save you from bad days.
Take Russia's Inna Pilipenko for example. The 5-foot, 10-1/2-inch knockout was seen Friday morning at Charles de Gaulle International Airport, alone and struggling with her enormous red suitcase, an apparently defective cellphone and a cumbersome 5-1/2 kg box of Super Mega Gainer Hardcore Chocolate Dietary Supplement.
The flimsy plastic handle on the box, which features the torso of a ridiculously pumped-up male body builder, had broken. Pilipenko was forced to remove its contents, a brown powdery substance in a clear plastic bag – not a good look at an international airport.
In transit from Milan, Italy, to Paris, the 17-year-old Moscow-born model, who this season walked such important runways as the Marc Jacobs show in New York and Jil Sander in Milan, says she has been warned – gain some weight.
"I have an extremely fast metabolism," says the gangly teen whose stats put her down as a size 4 and measuring 29-23-34. "I have been told that sometimes the clothes don't fit me because I am too skinny."
While models have been accused of using diuretics, and even cigarettes and cocaine to keep their weight down, Pilipenko says she has the opposite problem.
So each day she downs four of the calorie- and protein-rich drinks, in addition to eating regular meals. She wants to gain 10 pounds, and says she has been using the product for a year.
Fashion designers routinely pay their models thousands of dollars for just a few minutes work on the runway – so for Pilipenko, every pound is money in the bank.
Her agent's instructions to fatten up may be a reaction to the current aura of political incorrectness surrounding ultra-light models. Or possibly designers have decided to showcase their collections on more realistic figures in response to the economic downturn.
Though Pilipenko says she's unaware if other models have been asked to gain weight, she is sure of one thing: she'll get more work with some meat on her bones.
Emily Trimble, a 17-year-old model from New Zealand, says she has never been told to put on pounds but adds, "I did hear that some of the really thin girls were being told they should gain weight. That's all I know."
Anna Porzuczek, a 17-year-old Polish model, caught dashing between casting calls–"go-sees" – before the Paris spring 2009 shows started yesterday, says she has heard nothing about models being asked to fatten up.
And another model, in too big a hurry to even say her name, laughed as she walked backwards down Rue Moliere after a go-see for the Dice Kayek show.
She kept her balance, despite staggeringly high heels, and hollered: "that sounds like the most bizarre thing I've ever heard – models wanting to gain weight. I don't think so."

If this is really true, if she really is healthy, she should not be forbidden to work. She is so extremely thin, that i cant imagine anybody tries to look like her.

excuse me, i know many girs who suffer from an ed and are forced to drink food supplements, as the one she was drinking. They made it look like they were drinking it and actually throwing it away.
Just because she was seen Super Mega Gainer Hardcore Chocolate Dietary Supplement doesn't mean that she wants to gain weight.

I don't think that you should let her walk if she was healthy. No matter what she is a kind of role model presenting clothes for women. If you let her work in this condition (no matter if healthy or not) she still transmits this kind of body image which is certainly not good and that's very dangerous aswell.

I seem to recall Snejana being pulled from fashion weeks not too long ago at all. And Inna is in worse nick than Snejana ever was ... so what's the deal i would like to know??? It's not helpful to the impressionable minds that observe models as, not so much role models, but fashion idols to copy.

check out earlier inna pilipenko pictures.. she hasnt been THAT sickly thin then.. she definitely has lost A LOT of weight recently.. she is not naturally that bony..

I think I said this before, regarding Inna, but anyways: YES, I do believe that she is naturally very thin. YES, I also believe that she may have a hard time gaining weight. But I seriously doubt that she is trying that hard to do so. Moreover, as said in the post above, it's obvious she lost quite an amount of weight since she started. So, Inna at her weight now = defenitely NOT naturally that way. (and defenitely not healthy )

I love Lara, very very much, but especially Chanel outfits weren`t flattering at all. I refuse to say she looks "big", but next to other skinny models she looked quite normal. And we have to remember this girl has boobs of c ( ? ) cup, so her front will always look bigger than someone`s in same size with smaller chest.

And have to add some of my thoughts about Inna, hopefully they`ll translates properly in english. I´m not commenting on whether she`s healthy or not. BUT who on earth does think she`s suitable for this work ? As I assume model should look beautiful but not outshine the clothes. Well she isn`t the first and second she does, and totally wrong way. This is just this: there`s no thing as too skinny in fashion world. Casting directors or agencies won`t hire/sign girl, who has measurements couple inches bigger than average-model. But they`ll hire Inna with measurements under any average.

Was watching the Vuitton show and when Inna walked, some people did a double take and gave a "wtf" look. Seriously, I know models should be skinny but really that's really irresponsible of the casting director and Vuitton. There is something wrong with the picture if she makes Magdelena F look like a cow.

Inna makes me go very sad... she's just a skeletal i don't understand how she is allowed to walk or to even be a model? i am really shocked by the last pics with the yellow dress...
For me it's not possible to be that thin if she's not starving herself... she wasn't that thin in 2008...

Even if Inna is naturally that thin I don't understand why she gets work, I mean she just is frightening to look at. she's supposed to sell clothes but all I can think of is how skinny she is

i dont think snejana was pulled from fashionweek.She was shooting a beautycampaign.But when it comes to inna ..i dont get it at all.Designers do everything nowadays for the shockeffect.
