Oh my, chill people.

Honestly, only someone who has never been anywhere near Christ the Redeemer or never read or seen anything about it could call it insignificant or say it shouldn't have made it to the list. Not only the monument provides the most beautiful view of Rio, but it can also be seen from dozens of different spots, from the north to the south of the city. Also, it has enormous religious and symbolic importance, not only to brazilians but to other Catholics and Christians around the world. It may not be gigantic in size, but it is definitely gigantic in beauty and significance. It deserved every single vote it got.

Yeah, it's beautiful but it does not compare to Angkor Wat in history or beauty sorry to say.

Er, me and other people who think it should've been on the last rather than CTR.

Interesting thread and debate. Thanks everyone for keeping it respectful.

Does anyone have the shortlist of nominations?

I'm sorry, my last comment came across as rude.

Okay, so instead being decided upon by people with backgrounds in history, art, and architecture, it was voted upon by the (generally ignorant to the extreme) public?
