If I was gonna be killed by someone I'd like to be smothered with a Versace dress, strangelled with a Prada belt, poisoned by a Chanel perfume and beaten by a Dior boot. It's the only honourable death I can think of.

This is crazy and shocking. Sure, the woman's not known for her hospitality--but this is insane...

That's the best way! Even better if Atelier Versace!

since there seems to be choices involved, would you like fake ones, real ones, or it doesn't matter?

... but yeah, this is unpleasant.

2 Docs: Pete's No Schizo
The tawdry saga contines:

http://www.nypost.com/seven/05182007...a_italiano.htm

May 18, 2007 -- Two more prosecution shrinks testified yesterday that Peter Braunstein has severe behavioral and personality disorders, but falls short of being a paranoid schizophrenic, as his lawyers insist he is.

Prosecutors are trying to prove Braunstein was in control of his actions on Halloween night, 2005, when the fired Women's Wear Daily media writer admittedly masqueraded as a firefighter and set off smoke bombs to trick his way into a former co-worker's Chelsea apartment.

He's hoping to beat kidnapping and sex-assault charges by claiming he was too crazy to have been acting intentionally.

"Given the uncertainty intrinsic in psychotherapy, I'm certain he doesn't have paranoid schizophrenia," testified Dr. Steven Hoge, director of Bellevue Hospital's forensic psychiatry division.

Bellevue psychologist Jessica Pearson agreed, saying her test results found no schizophrenia, thought disorders or hallucinations.

The insanity plea should be done away with.

Quote:
Thomas Szasz, the foremost psychiatrist-critic of psychiatry, has been a relentless critic of the insanity defense and verdict for 50 years. He writes, “Regardless of whether a person is deemed sane or insane, a person has reasons, not causes, for his actions. If we reject the actor’s reasons as absurd, crazy, or meaningless, then we consider and call him mentally ill. That, however, hardly constitutes proof that his alleged condition caused him to commit the forbidden act.”

^Thank Justice for that. In the Anna Wintour thread, it wasn't clear if he'd been imprisoned or not.

I'm just outraged that someone's hatred towards someone else can be so dangerous. I know she's not the nicest cookie in the jar, but you don't have to be so vicious.
