I think it's hard for people to get humour right in a fashion blog, because it takes time to develop it as a writing skill, to find out what works and what doesn't work to amuse people - and even then, if someone has a worldwide audience, the most carefully crafted nuance will be lost on anyone who doesn't share the same proficiency with the language that's being used. People start from the point of interpreting you literally, which is not really the level that humour works on.

Add to that, people don't generally have an interest in fashion for the comedy aspect of it, so they're not looking for the humour in what someone might say about it, they're looking for other information first and foremost. Any residual humour tends to take the form of something sharp, rather than a wry look at things.

I do lament the lack of it.

^^ oh! i like how she writes!
HeatherAnne, you say "teenager" and all.. but i find her style is just fluid and natural. it's different from the rest of blogs i read. it definitely sounds more natural than the "style rookie"
her humour isnt, as you say tifa, groundbreaking... but she has that 'touch'
she is not hilarious... she is just "drôle" (in a good way)
i like her!

i get what she's trying to do, and it doesn't work for me. to me it never quite rang true:

she's trying to tell us she's a girl's girl. but a girl's girl doesn't sleep with other girl's men. surely there are enough available men in the world.

i really do feel we women fall into one of two camps: we're either angelinas, or jens. my feeling is that garance writes in that girlfriend-y tone so we'll come to her blog, and think she's a jen, but her actions make it pretty clear which kind of girl she is.

in my humble opinion ; )

So is anyone else kissing outside the shows, or just them?

i like that she at least didnt give up heels à la Carla Bruni

Can't help it: still think she is gorgeous. still think his ego is larger than life... it's in his posture, in his writing, in his pictures, in his interviews...

I think the Jen/Angelina analogy is a little too simplistic and quite frankly, if you are a girl's girl surely you don't pin the failure of a relationship on the 'other woman'?

Regardless, while I don't care for the way they came together, I appreciate that they are confident enough that she doesn't have to walk around in flats and crouch around him. It's refreshing

I hope there are more types of women out there besides the Angelinas or Jens. What if you hate both of them?

The picture of them. LoL. There must be some advantage of him being soo short.

two sites:

one seems pretty serious: http://www.shortsupport.org/Research/samaras.html

the other one is pretty good www.growtall.com

some of my favourites advantages listed on growtall

1) Shorter fall to the ground.

2) You don't hit your head so often.

3) You can get in places at kids prices.

4) The atmosphere is less rarefied. --> i love this one!

5) No vat on clothes in the UK at least.
