I don't think it's a total lack of parental guidance at all. Isn't mum her totally in on everything and 'really cool'? Taylor's whole act seems so contrived. Angelina Jolie pulled the bad-girl, bisexual, gothic routine over a decade ago and it was much more believable then. Taylor just tries way too hard to make everyone think she's such a bad girl, because clearly the music itself isn't going to get her enough mileage. I bet when there are no cameras around Taylor isn't that different to her pre-rocknroll-makeover self.
