I will be watching this as it is as close as I can get to The Fashionista Diaries...but judging by the questions that they were asking contestants it could be a total trainwreck.

Wow, I just read the article on fashionista.com and I cannot believe some of those questions that were on the application! How do you act when you get drunk??!! What does that have to do with fashion? That really annoys me...

Thanks nyc_art_style for posting!

from fashionista.com

A few days ago, we got mildly drunk with someone working on the set of Fashionista, the ELLE television show where someone gets an eventual job assisting Joe Zee.

Here's what they said:

The show's contestants would never normally get an interview, much less a job, at a high-end fashion magazine. "They're smart, most of them, but their style is really poor, at least so far. They dress like what they see magazine editors in movies wear, not what you guys actually wear. The producers are calling them 'Twenty percents,' like, they have 20% of the skills necessary to work at a magazine right now... but they're counting on them to grow."

The show's guest stars are quite high profile. "You would flip. I've actually heard of the celebrities and designers doing episodes. So in that regard, it will be better than Top Model."

The executive producers threaten the staff and contestants on pretty much a daily basis. "They tell us and the contestants like every second that everything is top secret. Right after we signed the paperwork, the executive producers said, 'On the floor of this building right below us, we have an entire floor of lawyers. If any of you leak any information, we will sue you for $55 million.'"

I'm excited for this. My school emailed all of the students telling us about auditions. I would never do this in a million years. It's such a career wrecker.
Elle magazine is selling out big time. Ever since Isabel Dupre left, it's gone to trash.

I think she did way too many americas next top models, it really is quantity with her not quality. I actually like her but this clearly is just buying into peoples fantasies and preconceptions of the industry things just like the devil wears prada. Im trying not to judge it unil I see it but it is clear she is being was stretched and her network want more crappy bitc* drama.

leave it alone

from fashionista...show title has changed to "stylista"...

Quote:
The first promo images from Stylista (formerly the same name as us) are out and, obviously, nobody's surprised.

Looks like the show is going to be as Tyrrific as well all feared and hoped.

The only thing faker than those "contestants" is the office this was shot in - believe us, readers, that is not ELLE.

Can't wait to see who gets fired over bringing Anne Slowey the wrong lunch.

Oh wait, we totally can.

and more...

Quote:
This morning WWD reported that ELLE's Joe Zee and Anne Slowey have started a New York City promo tour for the CW's "Fashionistas".

But there seems to be a little confusion on the Tyra front, or someone missed the memo.

Reuters now reports that the show is called Stylista, and the contestants will vie for the coveted ELLE position as well as two other prizes we haven't heard before: a year's paid lease on a Manhattan apartment and - perhaps the most covetable of all - a yearlong shopping allowance at H&M worth $100,000.

^ Wow at the shopping allowance. I really hope this show will be better than Top Model. I don't really like the name though.

And the apartment lease!!!

Gosh I don't know what to think of this show. I'd watch it though - at least it'll be entertaining.

Anne Slowey looks so different :S I never actually heard that she was that difficult to deal with in reality, is she?
