I guess it's pretty obvious now that she IS. I mean she's REAALLY going out of her way to be photographed. But who knows..watch in a couple of weeks we'll see a normal picture of her and she'll deny pregnancy rumors.

I feel the same way. I wouldn't say she'd be an unfit mother because I don't know her. I wouldn't want someone saying the same thing of me so I would definetely not throw something out like that about someone else.

And now here comes an extension of that great theory: anyone can be a mother but it takes someone special to be a Mommy and the special person who is combining both of those roles is... Nicole Richie! Yes! Against all biological, physical and general karmic laws wee Nicole is sustaining another life inside her.

The proud daddy is a certain Joel Madden, who you may or probably don't know from the American whingefest Good Charlotte. The proud parents have announced the happy event in the traditional manner - on the cover of Us magazine, which is basically an American Heat - and will commemorate their upcoming joy in a similarly holy manner: when Nicole appears in court for a DUI charge which may result in her spending 90 days in prison. One cannot but suspect that the 12 week Richie foetus is starting as he will mean to go on.

The problem that I have is that she doesn't look pregnant the slightest to me.

However, her never confirming it is somehow revealing that she probably is, I mean, it would be stupid of her, now that things have gone out of proportions, to deny it...except if it will any consequences on her going to jail.

Nicole Richie to Break Her Silence


Pregnant and soon-to-be on trial Nicole Richie has spent her summer so far on media blackout.

Next week, however, the Simple Life star will finally come out of hiding for an interview with Diane Sawyer. In three segments set to air August 2nd on Good Morning America and August 3rd on Good Morning America and 20/20, Sawyer will finally have the opportunity to ask Richie on our behalf, "What is going on with you?!"

The interview will mark something of a mini-comeback for the usually media-saturated Richie. On tour recently with boyfriend Joel Madden's band, Good Charlotte, she has kept a low-profile, eating at less-than-glamorous locations like a Chili's in upstate New York, and slouching in her car outside suburban malls where her man was performing to avoid being seen.

Some topics that we hope Sawyer will cover? Richie's August 16 court date for her December 2006 DUI arrest, where, as a repeat offender, she could face 90 days to one year in jail. And of course, that growing baby bump of hers remains uncommented on by Richie or Madden. Could it be time to announce the happy news?

Previous celebs who have memorably opened up to Sawyer include the then married Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley, Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, Tom Cruise and The Dixie Chicks.

Here's hoping Richie can provide Sawyer with a line as indelible as Houston's "crack is wack."
