i really like the lighting in the first set... and i love the image of the girl in the bathtub with the mirror behind her going into forever & ever. the colors in her work are quite beautiful too. i like all of these pictures so much, it's hard to choose favorites... the ones in the fields are so magical... and the one of the girl jumping... i love it.
wow... thanks so much for posting those, strawberry...they are amazing...
i agree with you, she is an absolute expert on femininity. she can capture gesture and mood so well.
her work reminds me a bit of what ryan mcginely is doing too...
oh i am so happy to have found this thread.!
thank you bling for starting it and strawb for all the great contributions
i discovered annabel's work recently and am in love...
i love the imagery it conjures up....for me she seems to really explore that process of blossoming from a young teenage girl to a young woman, discovering the power of sensuality and sexuality, and as you've all mentioned femininity...she captures this amazing moment of innocence mixed with power and sensuality...that's what really speaks to me.
her work is so calm and peaceful...there is something very 'silent' about her photographs... does that make sense? looking at them i feel like i need to whisper because i am looking straight into a personal moment in someone's life.! again, amazing...
i also love the small town, country, summertime feel....the water, gardens, flowers, open fields.....it makes me think of those sweltering hot, sticky summer nights when you're outdoors in the lightest summer dress you can find...thinking about love and life and looking up at the stars...
ahhhhhhh...i just cant get enough...
