carine is amazing.
if there were anyone who was born to be the editor of a top fashion magazine, it's her.
Long live Carine

From nydailynews.com
Harper's French import?

Conspiracy-minded fashion folk are buzzing about the rumor that French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld is being wooed by rival Hearst Magazines to jump ship to Harper's Bazaar.
Roitfeld could head a new British version, or take over in America. A move to the United States would make sense for Roitfeld, who has a daughter attending school in New York.
But the fiercely avant-garde fashion editor enjoys unparalleled creative freedom at Vogue, thanks to a cozy relationship with Condé Nast International chairman Jonathan Newhouse - as illustrated by a controversial picture in the current issue of a girl picking up dog poop. "You'd never see Anna Wintour running a photo like that," says an insider. "But [Newhouse] said he will not back down from giving Carine whatever creative freedom she wants, as whatever she wants is undoubtedly the right thing."

Why would she give up French Vogue for American Bazaar?

You have to wonder if these people do their homework. There already is a British version of Harpers Bazaar and I think Lucy what's her name is doing a good job.

Like Fabulyss said you would be stupid to go from French Vogue to US Harpers. It just doesn't make sense.

This may be self serving on my part, but Carine taking over at Bazaar may not be so bad...Bazaar is much cheaoer then French Vogue. But, if she wont have creative control then she should stay put.

She could re-makeover bazaar and make it better. However, subscribers who like bazaar as it is might jump ship and leave carine to blame.

Carine Roitfeld's editorial about her fashion style.

So to sum-up , Carine Roitfeld's favourite perfume is 'Opium' for men by YSL.She doesn't like to wear a lot of jewels ('it's more sensual' she says) .She likes her underwear to be simple (no lace or thongs.Picture 2).She likes to wear a short dress over a long t-shirt ( as seen on the third picture). She likes to wear fur during summer. She prefers to carry small bags and wear tight sheer clothes and short dresses/skirts to show her legs with high heels on (that she hydrates with 'Opium' body cream), and trench coats, she never wears trousers .Egon Schiele is her favourite painter .For the night , she likes her clothes black , long, see-through,and in 'rags' (as in , a bit torn. Last picture).
