(PARIS) Carine Roitfeld, clad in a custom-made Christopher Kane minidress, more than made up for the lack of A-list soirées this season by joining forces with Donatella Versace to host a book launch party for Mario Testino’s Let Me In (Taschen) at the Hôtel de Crillon Wednesday night. Despite the onset of rain showers—and an absent Donatella herself, who was home in Milan with the flu—no one, including Valentino, Karl Lagerfeld (who took snapshots alongside Testino of the Place d’Concorde from the oversized windows), Nicolas Ghesquière, Mischa Barton, DuJuan, Carmen Kass, Craig McDean, and Daria Werbowy could resist the chance to toast the beloved photographer. “He has such stamina!” observed Olivia Chantecaille of the famed shutterbug, who danced up a storm with friends Hamish Bowles and Michael Roberts while snapping away with his pocket-sized camera. “I have two meetings in the morning before Stella McCartney, but if I watched the Oscars till 7:00 a.m., then there’s nothing I can’t do,” Bowles grinned. Even Miuccia Prada, in town for her Miu Miu show Sunday, made a late night cameo, arriving just as L’Wren Scott, Jessica Biel, Daphne Guinness, and Molly Sims were helping themselves to their second glass of bubbly. “This feels great,” Testino cheered as he clapped his hands to the DJ-spun beats. “These are my people!”
