a.t. thank you so much for your contributions to this thread. David is a genius, I know little about photography, but I have noticed and love how he experiments with the focus. All of his pictures have such an intimacy to them, they are truly captivating.
^i agree..they really are intimate. I love how he uses focus to point out such little intricate details to show, or hide, what he wants from the viewer. There is something so very solemn in his photographs. There's a quietness that can often come off as sadness, but i think that more than anything his photographs have a pensive quality that i find quite lovely!

He's truly one of the best photographers right now and I often forget how good he is!, he has such an eye for light and moods and always makes eccentricity and youth appear so elegantly and empowering.. I just love him.
It's really just clothes is amazing by the way.. oh the things I'd do just to see that in HQs!.
I just recalled he also shot this story.. one of my favorites of the decade (and easily my favorite story with Trentini).
