Another Balzac!

Midnight - Rodin's Balzac, c. 1908

Triumph of the Egg, c. 1921

And last, but not least, the fabulous Greta Garbo.

There are a few still lifes and other interesting photographs on the source site.

Yes Please do ask, It would be very interesting to hear from a person who has been working with b/w over such a period of time, also to hear what the technical developments impact on images has had. Not that I think that it's only a technical aspect that has formed the atmospher in his very early photographs, but I do think it has something to say but please ask! And that Gloria Swanson is breathtaking, These strong penetrating eyes veiled by a delicate ornamentation ...

Marion Morehouse by Steichen for Vogue 1929
(In 1932, ee cummings met Marion Morehouse, a fashion model and photographer. Although it is not clear whether the two were ever legally married, Morehouse lived with Cummings for the remainder of her life, until Cummings' death in 1962.)

Thanks! I've had them on my computer for awhile, but wasn't sure where to put them...though I probably should have just started a Steichen thread.

July 1932 Vogue featuring the first ever photographic cover (shot by Edward Steichen, though he is not credited within).
