I agree with you, annak. I think her work is totally uninspired and lacking. It's like she's been shoving the same cliche down our throats for 15 years. What is she up to these days? I think Interview is really the only magazine that uses her anymore.

Ellen von Unwerth

It doesn't look like there's a thread for her. I think Ellen has a very distinct style - sexy without being vulgar. I found this site that think is doing a great job of cataloging her works.

the sexuality is a bit too gratuitous and overt for me . . . I prefer it to be a bit more subtle for the most part . . . the ones I am drawn to are the ones that don't have bared breasts, legs spread etc.

I definitely see a Newton influence in much of her work, but i personally prefer her to Newton. I find Newton to often be misogynistic in his works. Whereas Ellen, in my eyes, maintains a subtle feminine quality at all times. It's both blunt and coy at the same time, which i think is a tricky balance. There is a playfulness in them.

That being said, i tend to prefer her vibriant color images, which are more unique to her. Like the Bebe ads she's done. I think those are a bit more original as well.
