1959 DAVID KING's career started in London at the age of fifteen as an apprentice hairdresser at Eric of Baker Street.

1967 he started work at Michaeljohn, a top salon in Mayfair, two years later becomes creative director, inventing haircuts, wash and wear, natural, the Lion's Mane.
Giving demonstrations around the country, heading a Michaeljohn team for hair shows. A shoot with Norman Eales for Queen magazine puts him on the map.

Moving to New York 1973 working at Cinandre on 57th st . change of name, HARRY KING

1974 First studio job, a cover of Glamour magazine.

Working with legendary photographers, Penn, Avedon, Scavullo, Chris Von Waggenheim, Norman Parkinson, Snowden, Terence Donavon, Gordon Parks, Bill King, Arthur Elgort, Albert Watson, Deborah Turbeville. David LaChapelle, Annie Liebovitz ..... many more

Over 100 Cosmopolitan covers with make up artist Way Bandy and photographer Francesco Scavullo .
American, British Italian, French Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, Glamour, Mademoiselle, Life, People, In Style, Newsweek, Time, NY Times, W, Vanity Fair are just some of the magazines Harry's work has been featured.

1976 Established the look for Calvin Klein fashion show

1978 Starting haircut craze with Rene Russo and Patti Hansen.

Celebrities worked with: Sophia Loren, Elizabeth Taylor, Madonna, Sting, Lucy Lui, Kristin Davis, Meryl Streep, Goldie Hawn, Kate Hudson, Mick Jagger, Charlotte Rampling, Diana Rigg, Helen Mirren, Julie Andrews, Liza Minnelli, Holly Hunter, Frances MaCdormand Diana Rigg, Farrah Fawcett, Brooke Shields., Debbie Harry, Rita Hayworth, Diana Ross and many more.
