I
Inez + Vinoodh. It really doesn't get any simpler than that. Anyone who has known me from the beginning knows my affection for this very talented duo. If I didn't have any early day tomorrow I'd be here all night posting my favorite works. Many of my favorites include the recent editorial with Hannelore and Querelle, the Balenciaga campaign with Christy (my avatar), Bjork's collaborations, and most importantly, the awe-inspiring work they did with Yohji Yamamoto. Really, so beautiful and eminent. ![]() ![]() Credit: Air de Paris A lovely image of her: ![]() Credit: Art Net Attached is a small shot from their retrospective exhibition. The exhibit is called "The Now People Part Two: Life on Earth" and it's the second in a series of three exhibitions that explore Inez's more experimental concepts and ideas. Went to the opening last night and the show is AMAZING. Anyone who lives in New York and is interested in contemporary art and fashion and the increasingly common relationship between the two absolutely MUST see it.
On one wall of the gallery are over 500 stickers that comprise a sort of "Best of" from Inez and Vinoodh's past twenty years. And scattered throughout the gallery are large-scale photographic pieces and experimental scrap metal sculptures by Inez's uncle Eugene van Lamsweerde. The show revolves around a magic message that is spelt out via these pieces. "God How I/Eye Love You Pleace Don't Kill The Bird of Paradise Or The Endless Head Will Explode." ![]() From matthewmarks.com Quote:
A new photograph of Daria with bumper sticker. A Rorschach image that was printed onto t-shirts to advertise the show. It's also one of the oversized photographs featured. |

^ because daria's body is quite different!
I know she's a bit masculine (and I like it! ), but that body seems a bit too mannish! ![]() |

ooh i just found this thread. have to say they are my absolute favourite photographers.... something so pure & essential about their work.
and that Balenciaga campaign with Delfine is my all time fave. < Obviously. I'm longing for a huge print of that and the masked wigged out white lady to brighten my walls.
