Funnily enough was flicking through an old Harper's Bazaar (2004? 2006?) and came across one of those Contributors pages which included him. I've typed up his section
Jamie Huckbody
As a former stylist and now as Fashion Features Director for the London magazines 10 and 10+, Fashion Features Editor at i-D magazine, Contributing Fashion Writer for The Independent and self-claimed "guest star at Harper's BAZAAR", Huckbody is a very busy man.... (then it lists the pieces he wrote for that particular issue).
About Huckbody:
- The last movie he watched was Shirley Valentine - because he "needed a good laugh".
- His all-time favourite writeres are Truman Capote (Answered Prayers is "pure genius"), John Steinbeck and Jeanette Winterson
- Is currently working on reports for London, Milan and Paris shows (see next month's issue for the whole story)
What have you heard songbirdsel? Personally I still find the magazine very... messy, it's just so much stuff going on, I don't feel it's very coherent yet.
Jamie Huckbody has left Harper's Bazaar Australia.
He will be replaced by Edwina McCann, fashion features director of Grazia. She has previously worked for Australian Vogue, The Australian and Harper's Bazaar (in another capacity, obviously).
I remember coming across some articles that he wrote in old issues of Harper's Bazaar - after all he used to be its Fashion Features Director I believe, as well as work as a fashion features writer in the UK (Elle I think, and a newspaper or two?)
Hmmm I don't think he left voluntarily if you catch my drift I wonder what he's up to now?
^^From those issues that he edited and i got, i felt like he was in over his head in the position. His Bazaar was disjointed and lacked good content, plus he was heavy on the re-prints. Australian Bazaar always had them, but it never felt like they overshadowed the original features, just imho.
"Let’s just say he certainly didn’t choose to leave. Hopefully Alison and Edwina will return it to its former glory. Jamie is an amazing fashion journo but not the right ed for the current climate."

Just a random comment: I think Grazia is actually quite a good read and it is cheap and current - sometimes you feel it is better to spend your money on Grazia than waiting for a month to get bloody expensive-and-boring Vogue AU / Harper's Bazaar.
