you're all very welcome, .
I agree about the use of Anne-Valerie in most of the editorials.. she makes such beautiful clothes [as well as Bruno Pieters], I always wonder why they tend them to be ignored by fashion editors when they could do wonders with them.. anyway, maybe it's got something to do with budget that I'm certainly not familiar with, I'd love it if any of our stylists here could answer that for me
thanks MMA!!
her styling here (and in the other editorial [night moves] by the way) is a little off in my opinion but her taste in clothes is still very much intact.. just beautiful..
joanne blades was the fashion director of DUTCH magazine...which was really amazing and went out of business unfortunately...
she has amazing taste...
i agree that the italian vogue story doesn't look like her other stuff posted here...
but it IS a different mag and if you know richard burbridge's work...you know that his photo style is harder and more stiff than that of any of the other photographers' work posted here...so i think that is why it seems dischordant...
i am not sure they are the best team...
but it's often llike that with richard, no matter who is styling...
his beauty and still life always seem stronger than his fashion imo...
regarding the use of certain designers...
mostly it is a matter of personal taste...
certain stylists simply love certain styles of clothing and certain designers so you will tend to see them using them over and over...it also depends on the magazine and how many 'non-advertisers' they will allow the stylist to have in one story...
and some stylists are a bit rebellious and are always trying to sneak in the lesser know (some might say 'cooler') designers...
you don't see dries or demeulemeester or yohji or comme or margiela much in editorials either...
*no advertising...
politics and personal taste...that's what it is...
