Well she's free-lance now and always been a huge of Balenciaga so I think that why she attended Balenciaga. Her outfits are still really good, I especially love the one on #132 because its good to see a bit of colors on her.

Vogue Paris had always been huge with Balenciaga, however they are backlisted. I know Mélanie is freelance now, but she is still collaborating with VP, which is why it seemed a bit strange to me. When was announced that Mélanie became freelance? Around january or february of this year?

She became officially free-lance afte shortly after she gave birth don't remember the exact date, but it was before the Fall collections, so before we learned that VP was blacklisted from the Balenciaga shows.
However I understand that you find it strange to see her there, considering that for many people ( including myself ) she's still associated to French Vogue. And the fact that she worked on the October issue doesn't help either.
