In reference to what other comments from the article said: What is so wrong with using "icons" as backboards for finding personal style? True, it is a boring world where everyone looks the same, and yes, 'personal style' should evoke personal style - but come on, just because you use Kate Moss' look as inspiration to dress Lindsay Lohan, does not mean that the rest of us who appreciate Kate's style are all of a sudden low on self-esteem. It's obvious Lindsay only recently even learned who Kate Moss was.

I can't imagine Zoe was the first or only stylist to be inspired by the Queen of Cool. HELLO????!!!

...I really hate sweeping generalizations, but I guess the article does hold some merit.

i don't think the boho trend started with nicole richie and lindsay lohan. girls were trying to dress like mary kate and ashley long before nicole and lindsay came into the scene.

do you think she realizes that bras hold breasts up?? i give her five years before her tits are down to her waist.

i find her obnoxious and her girls look like clones. it seems that her job ought to be to refine stars' personal style, not give them her own

She's awful. I abhor the idea of anyone even using a stylist anyways, it completely undermines the idea of personal style.

Here's the first time I ever heard (or better said, read) of Rachel Zoe:

Harper's Bazaar, february 2005 (scans are my own)

thanks DosViolines! After I heard about Rachel Zoe, after reading a Los Angeles Times newspaper (there was an article in there about her...and its been posted on this thread alreay) I was like..."wait, ive seen her and seen her name somewhere else..." and i was like "OMG! Harpers Bazaar!" lol...this really has no point, but i really envy her closet! I think shes rather ugly to be quite frank...she has huuggee bags under her eyes and her face looks really sunken in (probably because she is like 75 pounds!) Also, what are Halston vintage dresses? I've never heard of them!

Rachel Zoe is quite ghastly looking, not by nature but after what she's done to herself. She would probably be quite pretty had it not been for the (I'm guessing) tanning, starving, excessive makeup, and weird high lights. I can't believe she's only in her thirties! Dear God! And I agree, all her clients kind of look like her, especially Nicole Richie. It's quite possible to count the protruding ribcages on both those women. Sigh, Rachel Zoe is a plague on Hollywood!

It's a shame Rachel is being attacked for the way she looks. I don't get what this has to do with the job she does. Can't we can discuss if we like her styling, or not, but to have to resort to nasty comments about her appearance surely isn't what this thread should be about?

^I don't like her style. It's too fake. Nicole Richie and co aren't stylish. They just pay her as a personal shopper to look "hollywood cool" .There's nothing natural, carefree, spontaneous. I'm sick of them all.
