I ran into a band called Lothar and the Hand People, a psychedelic space-music band from the 60's and in their homepage there were pictures apparently taken by Avedon:

Wow. Thank you for all of those Vogue covers. Avedon is by far one of my favorite photographers. His book Woman in the Mirror is fantastic. There is a new book out I think featuring his work. Or at least it looks new, Anthropologie is carrying it and I am dying to get my hands on it.
