I've only seen a few of his fashion shoots and I can already say I'm a fan.

Ryan McGinley (born 1977) is an artist photographer from New York City whose works are somewhat similar to certain confessional photographers like Nan Goldin, Larry Clark, and Wolfgang Tillmans.
His subjects include mostly color images of friends and lovers, as well as youth more so on the 'fringes' of society (e.g., skateboarders, graffiti writers, etc.)
As of 2006, his works have been seen in many galleries and museums. At 24 he was the youngest artist to have a solo show in New York's Whitney Museum of American Art. He has also had solo shows at New York's PS1 and in Spain at the MUSAC in Leon. He is represented by Team Gallery in New York.
His apartment, at one point, had its walls covered with Polaroid pictures of everyone who had ever visited him.
In 2007 he was awarded the Young Photographer Infinity award by the International Center for Photography.

Provocative photographer Ryan McGinley reveals what's going on in his head right this second


In 2003, artist Ryan McGinley turned the Whitney upside down with his explicit and sexually-charged photographs. This winter, he's focused on an upcoming book and a slew of shows around the globe. Thank God he's getting plenty of fiber

1. What are you working on right now?
A new book with Twin Palms publishers and shows in London, Paris, Vienna, Japan
and New York

2. What has been inspiring you lately?
The Virgins, eating Grape Nuts with blueberries, Nip/Tuck, Dash Snow, and Dan Colen

3. Who are your heroes?
Larry David, Jack Walls, and Woody Allen

4. Describe your aesthetic.
Church's of England shoes, '70s hair, Levi's blue jeans, agnès b. suits, close shaves, and Pantene Pro V

5. What's your favorite way to keep warm this winter?
Kissing my beautiful boyfriend Richard in front of the fire at our cottage in Winnipeg
