"Her stylised creatures, inlaid on saturated coloured backgrounds, have appeared in the pages of I-D, Citizen K and Vogue Italia. Sophie Delaporte is also an artist whose photographic language draws its sources in the surrealism of Magritte and Delvaux."
i can see the magritte inspiration, delvaux less, but maybe ....
it's funny though, the first images and the one with the apples and the one from arttransindex are very different to me from the water ones for example ... i wouldn't have thought they were by her.
^ I know what you mean. Sometimes her work is difficult to identify bc she has different "styles"...but I think a lot of her work has a singular poetic quality and there's something about the way she works with color that most of her pics share, too.
After specialising in photography at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure Louis Lumière in Paris, Sophie launched her fashion photography career in 1995 in London, and her first piece of work for i-D was in 1998. Now based between Paris and London, Sophie works regularly for Interview, Visionaire, Spoon, View On Colour and Citizen K, and collaborates with designers Eric Bergère and Isabel Marant.
, you say that all the time
