Does anyone have any interview that he's done. I tried searching online, but there's nohting. He's like the only photographer with absolutely no information.

He did an interview in French Vogue in the March or April issue, the one with Daria on the cover. It was pretty cool, more about his past, and about models, than about his photography; and there were some great snapshots he took as a kid when he was model-obsessed, stalking the models in New York in the 1960s (?), i think it was. Maybe a French TFS friend can post the translation...

Really? I'd love to read it! I never see any interviews with him.

Steven Meisel knows what the magazines want cause he used to be a stylist. His photos are good without out doubt and some are brilliant, but I find that I don't really feel his style. It's going in too many directions and sometimes doesn't even feel like it's the same photographer. Now don't get me wrong, I don't think that it is WRONG for an artist to go into different directions. You can even go to Mars, but as long as you can still 'feel' that it's the same artist.

For me, it seems like he has all the formulas and knows how to satisfy the industry. Also, I agree that he has oversaturated the glossies with his 'style' and therfore spread himself too thin.

I love steven Miesel! I wish local stores would sell Italian Vogue though, I have to go to the next town to get it! Do any of you know any good sites for viewing his work?

He was once an amazing talent but I find his work nowadays is either xeroxed heavily from other photographers or a repetition of his own greatest hits. Or in many cases, both!

Italian Vogue desperately needs an injection of new blood. Meisel and Peter Lindbergh have been ruling its pages for far too long with their decadent, self-indulgent 30-page spreads. Contrary to most people's opinions, you CAN have too much of a good thing.
nonono
xero is good! thats the way we live now. copy - one of the most important thing, as everything was already said, there is nothing more to find, so its all about how and who they copy viva postmodernism, viva italia!
and he is doing that just right
