...also loving the ones by Andrew Yee
I want to buy this issue so badly now...finding Surface in my town is pretty much a dice game.

^^ Me too... I love the incredible simplicity and smoothness of Jaime Chard's pics: is that pressed powder...?

tott, i don't know for sure, but i suspect it's plaster casts. i didn't get to talk to him, but that's what i could tell from the pictures. pressed powder is a good guess though - maybe i could find out?

i also really love andrew yee's pictures. i met him at the party in new york, and he's a super nice guy. he came from hawaii!

thanks so much for the kind words, guys! i had a ton of fun working on this shoot. it was really a great experience.

i got this issue in the mail earlier this week and the pictures are really quite beautiful

i especially love francesca's... not only because she is one of our own here at tfs, but because her work is so different from everything else that is being shown

andrew yee's photos also stood out for me as well

Whoa! Francesca, I did know that you entered this competition, but I didn't know that you won! Congratulation! That is quite amazing especially in such a strong field as we can see! I love your ghostly images, so peacefull, yet moving even they exude a feeling of stillness! Very beautiful. I also find Yee and Durgin quite amazing both in there texture, concept and simplicity!

We say too much in front of paintings ...
