Vincent Peters is a great photographer.... I think his lighting has a beautiful, cinematic quality to it. I've actually worked with him... nice guy (regardless of his reputation amongst models for being a perv)

I think european photographers definitely have a more modern, more heightened affinity for interesting, experimental lighting (Nick Knight, Solve Sundsbo, Sean Ellis, Craig McDean, Vincent Peters, etc...). Lighting is definitely a lot more interesting... sensibility, aesthetic etc...

americans... there are alot of talented photographers, maybe a bit more safe, a bit more commercial.

i love vincent´s work....his light technique are very similar on each editorial(agree with nueva he´s very cinemathic),especially since last year......but i do love his images, the atmosphere is great......i think europeans are more open the xperiment and to change and americans are good to take advantage on the commercial side (that doesnt mean that there´s no great american fashion ph.......)

He has to be one of my fav photographers. A picture of him is like a peek into his fairyland. Theatrical may be the right word to describe his style. And oh... the lighting, I always have a thing for certain lightings, it deepens the complete image so much. In my opinion, Peters absolutely knows how to use it.

Here's an amazing editorial

What a wonderful thread!! I had never heard of Vincent Peters before but his work is recognizable and I think his photos are GORGEOUS . . . there is a really ethereal feel to a lot of them . . . especially the first ones that were posted.

I love the lighting . . . it's sort of misty and mysterious at the same time . . . almost like the air is textured . . . really nice.

It looked like Erin Wasson in the Celine ad I think . . .

I've been searching for more of his work, ever since I found that Adina one.
Another set of his jewel-like photography, here with Jessica Stam.

His use of light is just incredible.
