The summer edition of the berlin based magazine on contemporary culture brings together Mike Mills, revealing ways of getting through the recession/depression in a 40-page cover special; Ronnie Cooke Newhouse, narrating a day in the life of her best friend Pharrell Williams; publisher Gerhard Steidl, racing jet lag across the Atlantic from Karl Lagerfeld’s haute couture show in Paris to Robert Frank’s Canadian Solitude; Slavs & Tatars revisit the Islamic Revolution of 1979 in Teheran with the first installment of its project 79/89/09 for 032c and Agyness Deyn’s nude story by Alistair McLellan. With its very own way of connecting and interpreting its diverse range of topics, 032c emphasises, once again, why it has been setting international standards for a long time.

well, i can't see anything wrong about Agyness getting an edit in 032c. it's not about exloiting her 'not-so-long-ago-It' status, nor about making a sexy-booty edit to attract wide audiences (and i'm completely comfortable with the cover image not being glamazon sexy, 032c is def not about that). i believe with its signature aesthetic 032c is as far from going mainstream as Beyonce Knowles becoming underground. [even the infamous Steven Meisel feature didn't seem to make the title more popular.]
the only thing that sort of confuses me is Pharell. not that i doubt the mag can come up with something significant, but this man doesn't interest me that much. nor his out-of-the-music-industry talents.

No, I wouldn't have wanted a glamazon on the cover, but I'd rather it was a nude portrait that possessed something more interesting than what I see when I look at the cover shot, when this is a magazine that's interested in stepping a little outside of the mainstream.

I don't find it so regrettable that Agyness is on the cover (well, just a little :p); the thing I find regrettable is the greatness that we are not seeing and that could (should?) have been...

Anyway, Steidl's interview might be interesting; he's known for producing very exquisite books.

Let's hope the cover doesn't represent the contents.

I like the part above the white bar in the cover, but her bone structure beneath makes her look like a boy which is not so appealing for me

Thanks for posting some of the content. The Agyness ed looks okay, but I prefer I&V's nude shoots. The Vivane Sassen ed looks nice.

the last series of pictures seems to be somehow so inspired by the latest Givenchy Haute Couture show.
Alasdair is brilliant! and i loved Agyness' nudes. not being a fan of the girl i can't understand all the hate.
