They'd have to lure her from Porter, which shouldn't be very difficult. Based on what happened at Italian Vogue, I'm beginning to believe that they'll keep it in the company and just reshuffle. Sigh.

What happened at Italian Vogue?

Anyway, good thing Natalie is not considered now. I want it to be Lucy in all honesty

I feel like if it was going to be Lucy, we would know by now. It's fast approaching. Also, I can't help but feel Lucy would have been made to leave Porter with immediate effect and placed on gardening leave before joining Vogue.

As far as I'm aware, that hasn't occurred and she's still in place?

^ Yeah, Lucy still officially at Porter. I think she is out of the running to replace Alex, indeed.

Porter sells very few copies. wouldn't you rather be editor of a massive brand like vogue?

Are readers the biggest draw? I'm almost certain the perks and pay are much better with Porter than with Vogue... Not to mention the creative freedom that comes with not having to answer to Conde Nast.

Agreed about the creative liberty. But I'm sure it's something you'd want on your resume, isn't it? Alexandra, with all her anti-fashion shenanigans wasn't above taking the title, after all.

I think we must've reached the closing date for applications, so one of these days we'll find out who the true runners up will be.

Porter is pretty Global too though, maybe not on the level of Vogue, but i am always surprised to see it pop up all over the place when i am travelling! But Vogue has much more to offer, i don't think the limits on creative freedom would be a problem for Yeomans, she spent over a decade at Hearst so she gets it. Perhaps she wasn't even approached.

I predict Emily at this point!

Edward Enninful Confirmed As New British Vogue Editor

By Scarlett Conlon
Monday 10 April 2017

EDWARD ENNINFUL has been confirmed as the new editor of British Vogue. Condé Nast International chairman and chief executive Jonathan Newhouse announced Alexandra Shulman's successor this morning, calling Enninful "an influential figure in the communities of fashion, Hollywood and music which shape the cultural zeitgeist", adding that "by virtue of his talent and experience, Edward is supremely prepared to assume the responsibility of British Vogue."

Enninful arrives at the title from his position as fashion and creative director at W Magazine, where he has been since 2011.

Ghanian-born Enninful spent his childhood in London where, aged 16, he was model-scouted and his fashion career began. Not long afterwards, he made the acquaintance of i-D founders Trish and Terry Jones and started assisting the publication, becoming the youngest ever fashion director for an international publication when he was promoted not long after, aged 18. His career to date has seen him work for Italian Vogue, American Vogue and most recently W Magazine, as well as consult on countless high-fashion campaigns.

While the fashion industry has long recognised his talent (he was awarded the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator at the 2014 British Fashion Awards, one of many plaudits), the British monarchy has also acknowledged his contribution to fashion, making him OBE - Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire - last October. “Today is one of the most special days of my life. It is wonderful to be honoured by my country while surrounded by my family and closest friends,” said Enninful, who brought close friend Naomi Campbell as his companion to the event.

I'm quite shocked, to be honest. I expect we'll see lots of Naomi (indeed she may even cover his debut edition), lots Mert & Marcus, and Insta models!

It would be interesting to see how Edward will appease the existing British Vogue readers.

Testino's workflow is going to lighten that's for sure.

In a way, I think it's a good thing that we will be seeing more diversity in the magazine. I think that's a major part of Edward joining. The UK is after all a very diverse population that wasn't best represented in the past and if nothing else, Edward is a great champion for that.

True!! Didn't think about that.

Now that he's out at W, who will replace him??

Wow last person I would think would get it. Not a fan of his work for last few years at W, but willing to give him a chance. What a story his career is. Good luck.

Woah! I enjoyed Edward's work at W when he joined - his work certainly got stale after a while, but I don't think it was solely his fault. W's energy went down, Tonchi didn't seem to be trying as much and I guess it's expected of everyone else to not go out of their way to produce extraordinary work.

I am also very pleased that we will see more diversity in Vogue UK and that Naomi is finally going to get the inclusion that she deserves - as silly as that sounds now, decades after she became a household name. It will be interesting to see Edward's idea of Vogue for sure!

On a side note, two out of the four "big" editors-in-chief are now men.
