I like so much of the new desing of Allure, but this is not good. Dakota is horrible and thank God she's not in vogue again.

The rise and rise? I mean, is she known for anything else beyond Fifty Shades?

It might make for an interesting editorial image, but between this and the mention of 'going bald', I don't find this to be an enticing cover design.

Weird contrast;

Dakota looks something out of a vintage Art Deco painting which I quite like surprisingly and then you have this Nylon-Esque contemporary headline and font...all in all I think there’s something to appreciate about the photograph.

I like this a lot! For someone who never watched Fifty Shades (not even the trailer), this is actually rather fresh. Dakota normally keep her clothes on for magazine covers.
It's such laid-back vintagey sensuality and she looks very wholesome here. What's wrong is the font and that terrible white colour.

At least it's not another close-up!

She remains the definition of a boring nepotism case.

I see a lot of fun reference points the team was probably riffing on but the end result is an unappealing mix of busy and flat.

I've been looking at this girl's rather unremarkable face since she first appeared in teenVOGUE a bagillion years ago and I can't say she's done or said anything to impress me since. There's nothing remotely alluring about this cover.

I think Tim Walker, Chen Man or Elaine Constantine could've come up with something much more joyous, subversive, appealing to millennials. The new editorial team could've really shaken things up at allure but instead the recent output seems to be representing the death rattle.
