I wonder if Michelle Obama will get a UK VOGUE cover. She met with Mario Testino in London during her euro trip.

I don't really see how nationality should figure into which models are placed on the cover of a certain country's magazine. It should be based on the success and repertoire of the model.

Hmmm, the possibility of Chanel and Sessilee shooting for a VP cover? It could very well be. We all know how Carine loves to do duo model covers (Kate and Naomi , Gemma and Du Juan, Mariacarla and Patricia, Isabeli and Jeisa). Usually "major" and "surprise" are words connotated with VP, and Carine hasn't featured a black model on her cover since Naomi in February 2007. Plus, it wouldn't be a "surprise" if they were shooting for UK Vogue. It would make sense that these two would make the cover, as they are probably the top ethnic models working. Honestly, though, I would prefer someone like Kinee Diouf or Georgie Badiel, or even Jourdan Dunn over Chanel Iman. She is just too commercial for my tastes! We'll see what the cover is really for!

February 2008. And Naomi landing a cover doesn't really count as a success for black models in my opinion. She's Naomi.
I don't see Chanel and Jourdan on the cover but I would find ways to get uses to that and Sessilee actually seems like a good idea. I still don't want to believe that Daria is making all those covers. Vogue Paris again? I like her but to me she lost her spark and her work for Vogue Paris is rather boring in my opinion.

^ Sorry, typo
! And no, it wasn't for the success black models. Naomi was on the cover because she's slapped a few maids around (it was the Bad Girl issue), not because of the color of her skin.

^Mikel, it could very well be for Love. I am thinking HUGE magazine, and Love definitely qualifies. As I think more and more about it, I don't think Chanel Iman is really a VP girl. Sessilee is, but not Chanel. But then again, Carine notices girls many seasons after they debut and decides to transform them, so one never knows! It's quite a possibility.

^They are probably over-reacting with the whole "major moment in fashion" thing. As I said before it's probably to do with them being black.
