Some editors come in and want to give the magazine a totally new, contemporary gloss and won't even look at the archives. I know that is what happened when Carine took over at VP, so I wonder if she just discarded all of the archives (which would be insane and ridiculous)? I have noticed, though, that she has been featuring VP covers from the 1940's/1950's in recent issues, so she must have some sort of access to past issues, or at least the covers of past issues.

Even before 2004 Carine featured flash back pages with old stuff reprinted. I remember reading. I remember reading in an old issue of Self Service that part of VP's archive got lost in a fire or something.

Since the July issue of Harper's Bazaar (US) had two covers: one with a celeb and a subscribers issue with a Doutzen, does anyone know if they'll be doing the same from now on?

^Well they were all seen being photographed with Vogue staffers on set.
And i'm sure they would not waste those celebs on a feature, so most are betting on a cover. Most likely August because their all woman of different Ages? Thats my guess. |
