there was a small peace about this in the metro today. it said the shoot is inspired by the cover of serge gainsbourgs 'histoire de melody nelson.' i really don't see it in the cover, guess we'll have to see what the rest of the pictures are like.

That album shot is far more interesting, because it mixes in so many different things - not only is it reflecting the lolita theme in the work, but also the boyish side of childhood that was a feature for girls growing up in the 70's, where gender roles where changing. You could also argue there's something being said in that her toy is a man.

It's not some idiot shot of a twentysomething posing as a sixties child in 2008 for the sake of it.

hmm... really? she has already done paradis though, which is of a very similar aesthetic on the "artful/tasteful nude" scale – in my book, at least
