i also wonder if they were trying to convey some sort of fashion as a religion type of feeling? maybe referring to their september issue as a fashion bible of sorts since guinevere's pose is clearly reminiscent of a crucifixion?
maybe that's a stretch, but if ever they were to do something like that, september would be the time.

I definitely think they were going for a crucifixion pose (look at that shadow), even more obvious than the Tim Tebow shot in this month's GQ that everyone is talking about. I somehow didn't even connect the "fashion bible" reference to it, but I'd say you're spot-on.

I also like that Guinevere's face is sort of in that blank stare, it keeps the attention on the entire cover instead of just her and she still looks gorgeous.

This is not my favourite image, but again, they strike with great text placement and colors.

I like how Harper's Bazaar Spain magazines to make these really nice minimal newsstand covers, instead of relying on subscriber covers to be "creative" .

I love how much they love design. So many magazines see empty space as an excuse to fill the cover with a hundred-word essay, but each month, these people clearly aim for a different sort of interplay between the image and the wording.

It's great that they presented Guinevere with a kind of reverence. Love the styling and the strategic juxtaposition of text and image in sequential form. I think clean and minimal covers are the ones that effectively bring out a great deal of anticipation from viewers. At least that's how I feel, when I see covers where the text doesn't try to overpower the image.

The editorial is great. In spite of it featuring every one of my least favorite dresses of the season I think the styling works wonderfully and Guinevere looks beautiful. A very nice studio editorial. But I'm honestly surprised they didn't pick the third shot or the one with the gold chains for the cover, those would have been more typical for HB Spain. Love how they recreated her silhouette for the article on her!
