you know what? i really liked that interview with Miranda. obviously the whole "next Gisele" thing is a bit much. and is entirely unlikely, as well. but i really CAN see her being the "next Elle". she's got that happy-go-lucky charm. and she's sincere. and gorgeous. and has a ridiculously awesome, healthy body. she's not going to be landing Gucci campaigns, but she'll do just fine with VS and surely SI and probably Maybelline or Revlon or one of those as well. she's great for anything commercial.

I'm sorry but after being in the business for 4-5 yrs already - if she's not already "broken out" as the next big thing it's not going to happen now. I think the comparisons to Elle & Gisele are a huge stretch.

Apparently Miranda already had a Maybelline contract a while back and they chose not to renew it. As for VS she is completely overshadowed by all the other girls and I see her the least of all of them - in the catalogue, ads, commercials and even the televized runway show.

She's a cute girl sure and she'll do ok career-wise but she's never going to be one of those hugely in demand, one name models who lands hugely lucrative contracts.

Doubt it. I highly doubt that after being in the business for 4-5 years now that designers & companies are suddenly going to start falling all over Miranda and saying "oh how come we haven't noticed her before now". Doesn't happen. I think most girls make their mark at the beginning of their careers.

^^ As much as I love Miranda, I agree with you, canuckcutie.

Miranda's a cute girl, very commercial but I doubt she'll be the next Gisele. Granted, she has the VS contract but with Alessandra, Adriana, and Karolina in play, I doubt Miranda will reach Gisele status. VS, I've noticed, doesn't even seem to be promoting Miranda as much as they did when Gisele was signed on. Miranda's only had one commercial so far compared to the many Alessandra, Adriana, and even Selita have.

With that, Miranda hasn't even made a huge impact on the runways, sadly enough. Besides an odd appearance at here and there at Rock and Republic, she hasn't been anywhere else.

Doesn't Miranda have to first become as famous as her Victoria Secret counterparts before people start predicting supermodel status? But hey she's being discussed in great company so kudos to her PR. With enough attention she should be able to land some good campaigns. But Gisele status? Not gonna happen. That's not a fair comparison for any model, she's in a whole other league.

Has Miranda ever been in Vogue besides that Aussie profile? An editorial?

Actually quite a good issue. The Flavia ed looks very US Bazaar though.
