Yeah, I think the editorial very much is a direct reference to Many Ray's work and surrealism. I find it to be only okay though, just like the cover..i don't know, just not really moved by any of it.

As the main material of this issue, it's quite unlike we would usually get from Interview...it feels so timeless-not that I have a problem with timelessness at all, but I see Interview as a magazine more about Pop-Culture, contemporary aesthetics and now-ness..not what was or, at least these kind of homages. At the very least, Jansson has captured her beauty in the exquisite way it should be rendered in a photograph.

I feel like Interview's been pretty boring lately, but I really like Rooney Mara here. Actually, for some reason Side Effects really made me a fan of her (as opposed to The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo).

I am in love with the image of Rooney's face covered in jewels. It's so eerie and macabre.

second that! on the miniature it looks almost like a skull! I wish they'd shoot it from better angle and put on the cover. Interview's getting lazy with their covers lately.

Lindbergh's editorial featuring Saskia is really strong.

The opening shot of Jansson's editorial strongly resembles that of Linda and Kristen's iconic shot by Meisel from US Vogue in the early 90s.

So far, none of these two editorials impress me.

"The Art of Shopping" and "For Sale" are really great editorials. I think I will pick this issue up for those two alone. Great casting, great styling, great set design. I love them.
