You can never go wrong with the Jansson + Templer duo and 'Olympiad' is a triumph, great composition, lighting and conception...even if it has 'Newton' stamped all over it, I'd rather see Jansson (or McDean's) 'inspired' interpretations of the photographer's work rather than M&M's half-arsed attempts to retread his old photos. Also so much better than that horrid, tribal Daria editorial or the totally boring Lara swimsuit one from the last two years.
Great casting...looking forward to seeing Ava and Maria; not to mention the Avedon feature. Finally a non-March/September issue of the magazine that I think I will once again purchase.
"Olympiad' is astonishing and the fact that it resembles a CK campaign makes me like it more.
Neither Suvi or Constance would naturally spring to mind, given the theme of this editorial, but I have to say they both look sensational. Jansson and Templer are at the top of their game here and I never sicken of this kind of powerful aesthetic.....albeit with a sporting twist this time. Wonderful.
