the Numéro logotype isn't century gothic (or avant garde for that matter). I doooon't think it's Helvetica or Univers, but I think it matches Helvetica Neue if my eyes serve me correctly.

Thanks for the info about i-D! Somebody already said that Numero was Helvetica Neue and I also think that that font is close or the same. For Vogue the use didot but it's stretched out a little and for Elle it's still didot but stretched out even more.

I think it's a font specifically created for the magazine.

There is a font called Kursivschrift that is very similar to the font used in Lula. You can preview it here or here. It is basically the same, exepted for capital letters, which I think were made especially for the magazine.

As I said, the capital "N" is different, but the rest is exactly the same.

Could anyone tell me the font Vogue Paris uses? The March 2009 cover, which reads 'Coco Chanel'?

Vogue Paris used a Custom Caslon 540 for that cover type. I don't know about all the other fonts they use... but the Caslon is definitely a custom font as you can see minor differences.
