I mean that issue is dready. Just editorials, reprints, and too many promo articles. MC Russia becomes increasingly thinner. Some years ago, when I've just started to read this magazine, it was much better.

I'm not a fan of how Marie Claire UK reprinted if I'm honest, but in light of their pretty horrendous situation, I can't say I'm surprised they decided to.

From what I understand, they're working on pretty much a skeleton editorial staff.

^And then you read reports about how the publisher considers the magazine as one of their flagship titles. If they don't supply the right resources and conditions for people to produce a great magazine, they aren't going to get the results they want.

Exactly. I think it's even sadder that their September issue is going to be another re-print. The September issue should be a magazine flagship issue each year, but sadly they clearly don't feel the same. I'm not quite sure what's going to happen there really. They've lost almost all of their editorial team, are trying to revamp it once again and give it new direction... but I just don't know what they'll do.

I think most of it is their own fault. It could be and used to be a brilliant magazine. Harpers and Elle have the same, maybe less staff and look at what they produce.
I guess it is a tough magazine to edit, but concentrate on one thing and make that good. Don't try and compete fashion wise, it isn't a fashion magazine. Marie Claire is all about features. They used to get brilliant exclusives and amazing celebrity access, but that has now all gone.
The design is embarrassing, it looks cheap and visually its boring.
People i know would rather buy Grazia, Stylist and the supplements than Marie Claire.

Sometimes the rot starts higher up. I've seen situations where a publisher has treated production/editorial staff as if they're totally worthless, with an approach to problems that simply involves replacing employees with new faces (and then expecting them to work harder on less pay). There's no concept of analysing why there's a high turnover of staff, and how they've helped to form the conditions where a poor magazine is being produced by their employees.

I also agree, to not shoot the September issue cant look good.

Do you think they are looking at getting a new editor?

Marie Claire UK had a pretty good staff retention up until a few months back. A lot of the senior editors had been there for ten or so years, it seems when the editors switched, and the magazine "revamped" they all decided it was time to leave. It's a shame really. Like you say, it used to be a good magazine, at what it did, it was the best perhaps. The fashion content currently is very, very weak.

No idea about editor's... I suppose it would make sense really, under Trish's reign this has happened. But then who knows, maybe she can turn it back around. Some how. But yeah, to not shoot your own September issue is really not a good thing.
