mikel, you should think about the chemical reactions that are caused by the time. It would be sad if all those magazines, covers and pages go to waste.

what happens to the magazines with time? How can i look after mine better?

^ i'm not sure if magazine paper is acid free. that could prove to be an issue. most magazines (except for cosmopolitan) are printed on pretty good paper however.

you can make yours look better if you get some bookends and group them together by year/title etc.

wow!! you guys are really impressive, so jealous!!
Because I live in HK, there is not much space for me to collect magazines like this, so I just tear the ads and eds or some interviews out and throw the remaining away!!!!
although I want to keep the entire magazine...

if i had saved every single magazine i owned then mine might look like mikel's.

magazine subscriptions are cheap here (usually around 15 bucks for a 12 issue subscription on average - and sometimes you can even get free subscriptions)

i wish i had saved some of my old issues of sassy and raygun magazine - those are particularly valuable these days.

i'm a big believer in recycling and i only have a one bedroom apartment. so i need to get rid of magazines after i read them.

^^i've had to get far more discerning over the years too... I subscribed to Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, W and a few other mags starting in the late 90s, early 2000s and just started purging at one point because they were taking up an absurd amount of space.

I've kept all the W's and a few of the special issues (or the covers at least) of some of the others.

Today I only subscribe to W and Vanity Fair and I recycle the Vanity Fairs while I'm done, and keep the copies of W.
