Crash ed is wonderful! loving it! Templer & Jansson are a very very good team and never get me bored!
I had nothing to do this evening but now I have Galliano's itw to read. thanx Susie, you made my evening.
Karl Templer is amazing but that ed feels sort of Mert-and-Marcus/Meisel-apocalyptic-junkyard-trash and that look and theme has been done to death.

^^Honestly I don't see it. Janssons spread is more 80's, glam versus punk!

yeah of course, I know the "crash" theme has been done tons of time and honestly M&M and Meisel were not the first to do it (even if in W spread I like the "dirty environement" vs glamourous r2wcouture-sque style)
but honestly here it's different. first it's not a "decharge de voitures" but a "fete forraine" (i'm such a captious person) then the "dirty" tends to remain dirty and is not being glamouroused!
and Jansson forgot about the Bourdin-esque colours. so to me it looks different.
anyway, I like the way Templer mixed tartan-tutu-jungle_animal_prints-and-knitwear. for the style it's more about a futuristic-punky-chic-mdmax girl than a glamazone in a surrealistic situation.

but i know it's been done over and over again....but I like it

but honestly it's soo less annoying than a Marc Jacobs...oops sorry it's not a marc jacobs ad campain it's just another Teller naked portfolio.
for decharge de voitures sorry i didn't know how to translate it but it's the place you take your car once she's dead.
fête forraine = fun fair (??)

The Courtney ed is like a continuation of the Madonna Pop cover from ages ago; Blonde cultural icon nude save for confining ropes. Madge kept her pants on but I see quite the overlap. I don't hate the Courtney edit though I find it a bit repetitive and boring. Nudity can be nice but Courtney has never been on my list of people I need to see naked. And it all seems a bit doneat this point. There are more creative ways to display the human form. Pity since I think M&M are genius.

I like the Missy edit even though Missy is nothing compared to Frankie...

I love the Courtney pictures and article. The pictures are so beautiful imo. Very interesting reading.
The pictures makes me think about Madonna in 1992 the Sex book and Erotica era and also about Britney Spears.
Some people might be irritated now but I was wondering if someone can post the cover picture in HQ?

Priceless!

I really dislike the Teller edit. His stuff almost always makes me feel grody, and this is basically the epitome of the ironic child style gone too far that I despise in him. That edit, in my opinion is much more pornographic than Courtney Love's - hers is simply silly.

I absolutely like the Juergen Teller & Mikeal Jansson eds, I think they are great, really worth the buy. But Mert and Marcus have disappointed me again in this POP issue. POP used to be the number one issue were Mert and Marcus could express their creativity, but now I personnally think their W Magazine stories are so much better! i don't know what the influence of Alex White in this matter is, but think in the next POP issue, Katie Grand should lift her favourites up to a higher level!!!

#126 Mikael Jansson is one of my favorite photographers but this ed is far different from the other works of him. Interesting! Love this ed.
Thanks for the scans.
