Yes, the show may be successful, but you can't argue how the stars on the covers now don't have as much star power as before. Back in 2007/8 the cover stars at least had a reputation under their belt. Now all you need is to be cast in a hit show.
I don't think that Chloe Moretz, Elle Fanning, Emma Stone, Taylor Swift, and Jennifer Lawrence should really be considered nobodies. I looked up some 2007 covers, just to see and sure they had an Anne Hathaway cover but there was also a Willa Holland (who?) cover, so I don't think their cover star quality is declining at all.
