The styling and colours is like a breath of fresh air from UK Elle. I was starting to get sick of this overrated 'Rock Chic' aesthetic.
It's got me curious about the subscriber cover now, hoping for something similar. Thanks for the thread Northern Star!

The subscriber cover is nice, but nothing spectacular. I would of preferred a colour cover shot, a bit like the newsstand.
I'm excited for the runway supplement already as well. Thanks again Northern Star!

Natalie Portman (yawn) isn't exactly a new cover subject (although I can't remember the last time, if ever, she was featured on the cover of UK Elle), but the shot itself is rather beautiful. Very unusual colors for a cover, but I like it -- should stand out to its advantage on newsstands amidst a lot the other issues this month. It'll probably look even better IRL. I'm seriously beginning to consider a UK Elle subscription...

Now if only they'd rethought the way they stamped the masthead on the picture -- using the Photoshop "Darken" layer effect on it and then leaving it at that seems rather lazy to me.

Finally something different from UK Elle! Not tremendously found of Natalie but it's not an awful cover - and given the number of new ads inside, I wouldn't be buying it for the cover anyway. They could have put a leprechaun dressed up as cupid on the front of this issue, and I'd have said to myself, "fair enough" - then ripped the front page off. And a runway supplement!

Natalie's never had a UK Elle cover, and she's not a very UK Elle girl I don't think, which is why I like her being on there so much.
