Subscriber's cover reminds me Natalie Portman's sub. cover in February 2010.
UK Elle's subscribers covers aren't anything special usually, newsstand's are better, though in this case I don't like any if them, and agree to everyone : she looks much older than she is, fluxxx, I agree, I see Judi Dench here

she looks like Robyn could possibly look in her 40ies if things went wrong... don't like either of them... white background is just really bad... subscribers' cover does not add much...

She just isn't photogenic and looks to be in her 40s. I wish fashion mags would stop trying to force her into happening. I have yet to see a good editorial featuring Carey.

I agree. She always looks so awkward and uncomfortable. She might be talented as an actress but when it comes to photographs she just can't seem natural at all. This is not a great way to start the year for Elle UK especially after the last brilliant cover they had.

The subscriber covers have really gone downhill too. There was a time when they were superior to the newstand cover but now there seems to be less effort put into them.

Carey doesn't look good on either cover but she looks much better in the newsstand cover. Subscribers' cover is just blah.

I don't think Carey looks old here, but that's hilarious!

I'm over black and white subscription covers. They always come across as boring and lazy. It's as if Elle think it's the ultimate direction.
I'd probably like it with some colour. But then again I'm not keen on the newsstand, the text layout leaves a lot to be desired.

Although whilst I'm doing the bashing, that latest shot of Carey is really nice. The hairstyle is something different and the dress looks good.

Woah both covers are bad, she looks much better than this, but i guess she aint that much photogenic, or a cover girl for that matter.

What is up with her mouth? It doesn't photograph very well.

Go, Carey, go!

I'm not sure about the cover, can't wait to see the full editorial though.

Flicked through this today. They've changed the paper quality. It's no longer glossy. Matt, cheaper paper it feels like.

Nice front of book pages though from what I saw, and it looked like two studio edits.

My only complaint is that she looks a bit old
I agree. But I guess that's the haircut that makes her look older. She's still pretty though. Tons better than her US Vogue cover.
